A doughboy from Poland

Hello guys!

Let me introduce myself in a few words. I'm from Poland and I'm interested in the American involvement in the Great War. I'm a coordinator of Polish reenacting project named GRH American Expeditionary Forces. As you can expect, our aim is to portray doughboys.

I found your forum interesting so I decided to register.

Merci pour votre accueil! Je suis désolé, mon français n'est pas très bon. Je vais essayer écrire en francaise de temps en temps, mais c'est ne pas simple pour moi.

Nous sommes ouvert à la coopération. J'ai visité France, Belgique et Luxembourg pendant reenactments comme GI Américain.  Il serait bon venir comme doughboy.


Thank you for your kind welcoming! I will try to write from time to time in French but it isn't simple for me. As you have surely noticed, my French has become a little bit rusty. ;-)

We are open for cooperation. Up to this time I have visited several times France, Belgium and Luxemburg as a WW2 GI reenactor. It will be great to participate in a centennial commemorations as a doughboy reenator.

Hi and welcome aboard

We are able to mobilise up to 10 doughboys. Usually due to the various circumstances we are participating in our meetings in a smaller number.

There were many reasons to choose AEF. Most of us are (or were) engaged in the reenactment  movement of Americans who fought during the second world war and some of us were always fascinated by the doughboys. Additionaly one of our friend had a relative who served in the AEF on the western front  It was natural for us to remind about Polish-Americans and their participation in the Great War.  So after many years of debates we had decided to set up a new project (which is still under development).

Nous sommes en mesure de mobiliser jusqu'à 10 garçons. Habituellement, en raison des diverses circonstances, nous participons à nos réunions avec un nombre plus restreint.

Il y avait de nombreuses raisons de choisir l'AEF. La plupart d'entre nous sont (ou étaient) engagés dans le mouvement de reconstitution des Américains qui ont combattu pendant la deuxième guerre mondiale et certains d'entre nous ont toujours été fascinés par les Doughboys. En outre, un de nos amis avait un parent qui a servi dans l'AEF sur le front ouest Il était naturel pour nous de rappeler les Américains polonais et leur participation à la Grande Guerre. Ainsi, après de nombreuses années de débats, nous avons décidé de mettre en place un nouveau projet (encore en développement).
